I try to not let Aggie football run my life and rule my emotions, but man, does it feel good when they get a win! This weekend A&M was in town to play their annual Southwest Classic game against Arkansas. I’ve gone to the game several times since they started playing at Jerry’s World and it’s always a good time.
On Friday night, Cody did some yard work while I painted the two guest bedroom closets. While those things are small, they both have lots of shelves so it takes some time to get through them. For dinner that night, we had some delicious nacho and I tried the Voodoo Ranger Atomic Pumpkin from New Belgium and it was awesome. It’s pumpkin beer brewed with cinnamon and habaneros. It’s nice that it’s pumpkin-y but not too much because the habanero kicks it up a notch.
Saturday morning, we headed to Jerry’s World (JW) for the game. We met my parents there and made our way up to our nose bleed seats. Even though we were so high up, the view isn’t too bad thanks to the giant screen in there. When I’m at JW, I have to get the $17 margarita. You may think, $17 for a margarita?! Y’all, it’s got enough tequila in there to make it worth it. My parents got some nachos so I was able to snag a few of those from them. Off course, the band was one of the highlights of the game.
The Aggies pulled off the win in OT and I thought it might be time to visit the doctor because my blood pressure probably got a little high there for a while.
After the game, Cody and I headed home with a quick stop at Whataburger first. We watched some college football and then my family stopped by to check out the house. We visited for a while, then headed to Chuy’s for some Tex-Mex. We were able to sit on the patio and not burn up which is always nice for September.
On Sunday, my family met us for church near our house, then we went to eat at Panda Express. After saying our goodbyes, Cody and I headed to the grocery store to get some dinner stuff. When we got home, he worked on the yard some while I did some more painting. The closets are almost done and he’s been working on the doors so we’re getting close to popping the bottle of champagne! Hope you have a great week!
